Do you like to veg out while watching television? If so, a new Internet service called BuddyTV is not for you.
Fans of "Lost," "The Amazing Race" and other popular programs will soon be able to tune into the free service to get play-by-play commentary -- along with gossip and online polls -- presented by former reality television personalities and other so-called TVJs.
"Television, as it is today and for the last 60 years, has been a very passive or non-social experience," said co-founder Andy Liu, who came up with the idea with David Niu while having beers near Machu Picchu, Peru, last year. "What we wanted to be able to do is express ourselves at the time of the show."
TV fans, this online service wants to be your buddy
